Maker Forum

May 10, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

This is a social event where makers, practitioners, and independent art and design organisations can exchange stories, obstacles and ideas based on their experience running a maker business.

Establishing yourself as a maker is a challenging process. Often, one of the trickiest things is finding a balance that helps you keep the space, time and exploration needed to make while navigating finance, funding, marketing and business planning. There will be a particular focus on re-use and on sustainability – both in terms of materials and stamina!

In a roundtable setting we will talk about how different makers balance the different aspects of their life and profession. Have you found a particular organisation a great resource? Have you found a workshop format you enjoy? Do you swear by a particular ingredient to pick you up when run down? Are you stuck in a rut?

Designers, artists, makers, researchers, educators, people who try to balance business with sustainability and creativity, all are welcome to share. The Remakery team will join in and share our experiences.
